How To Reboot Computer

How to reboot computer is also covered here https://www.wikihow.tech/Restart-a-Computer

If you don’t care to learn why your computer needs to be rebooted now and then, skip this article and read the wikiHow article

Over many years, we have been servicing the needs of our customer's computers as well as our computers here at DTS InfoTech.

One tried, true and simple solution that has resolved countless problems, is to simply turn the computer completely off, wait a few seconds and then turn it back on. You have now rebooted it.

Power Button

Easy peasy. It doesn’t get much easier than this!

There are two easy steps you can take on how to reboot computer:

Restart

Shutdown

These steps are different (Restart vs. Shutdown), and both are very good first steps in resolving ‘easily resolved’ problems.

Before you follow any of these instructions, save your work and close out of any programs you can.

Restart

On Windows 10 machines, click on the Windows icon at the far left bottom of your screen.

The icon will look like this Windows Icon

After you click the Windows icon, a power icon will appear which looks like this Windows Icon

After you click the power icon, you will see the choices you can make:

Sleep

Shutdown

Update and Restart

Restart (Click this one)

If this doesn’t work, move on to the next method, which is called a Shutdown. It’s different from a Restart, but again it will accomplish the same thing.

Shutdown

Again, before you Shutdown make sure to save your work and close all your programs

On Windows 10 machines, click on the Windows icon at the far left bottom of your screen.

The icon will look like this Windows Icon

After you click the Windows icon, a power icon will appear which looks like this Windows Power Icon

After you click the power icon, you will see the choices you can make:

Sleep

Shutdown (Click this one)

Update and Restart

Restart

Once the system has completely powered down (for example, the power light has turned off), press and release the power button normally to power up the computer.

Your Shutdown and Restart is now complete, and you are ready to see if this little trick has resolved your issue.

If these steps did not resolve your issue, you’re now ready to call a professional.

But not always

Our experience has been that a simple reboot can fix a computer many times, whether the problem is lack of speed, also known as running slowly, or software programs that are either not working at all, or doing odd things they don’t normally do.
